A Second Go (ASG) is a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 2015 with the mission to ease the transition for cancer patients from fighter to survivor.

Why was A Second Go founded?

Who is eligible to be a recipient?

How can I nominate a cancer survivor?

What happens with my donation?

Who has benefitted from ASG?

How can I help?

The emotional scars of a cancer diagnosis last much longer than the physical ones. When your health is compromised, it is impossible to not reflect on how you have lived your life to this point and everything you would do differently moving forward.  Not only is a cancer diagnosis physically and emotionally taxing, it is also an extreme financial burden.  We never want someone to not be able to live their life post-cancer due to financial constraints.

Our focus is to inspire individuals recently in remission from cancer to live their lives moving forward with passion and purpose!

Being placed in remission, and staying there, is the ultimate goal for anyone dealing with cancer.  Maintaining a healthy, stress free lifestyle is key to avoiding relapse.  It is my goal to give back to others who may not have the support I did to make this possible.  A Second Go was established to raise money/services to provide people with the tools to have a successful ‘second go’ at life including, but not limited to: yoga, therapy, nutrition support, spa services, home cleaning services, etc.

Anything we can do to make the stressful transition easier.

We do this by fulfilling the wishes of cancer survivors.  Once a survivor is nominated, a survey is completed where we learn about their diagnosis, treatments and restrictions.  Then they tell us what their wants and needs and big dreams are!! We want to encourage an active, healthy lifestyle as the body needs to recover from invasive treatments.  To date we have provided individuals with spa days, yoga and pilates memberships, grocery gift cards, restaurant gift cards, paddle boarding and kayaking certificates.

All events for A Second Go will donate a portion of the proceeds to a current cancer fighter.  All other fundraising will go directly to cancer survivors and their new journey.

We’ve been able to help two more A Second Go survivors and are happy to announce that we’re looking to expand our network of recipients! Know someone recently in remission who could use something to look forward to? Please nominate them!

You can email info@asecondgo.com or call 561-510-0137 to receive a nomination form.

We want to put our hard-earned fundraising money to good use!!

If you would like to donate services and are in the South Florida area or know of a current cancer fighter who could use some positive words of encouragement, please email info@asceondgo.com or call 561-510-0137.

Hi Kelly – I was sent this link through a friend of a friend. It’s truly amazing what you’re doing for not only yourself, but others. Starting the organization to help others is just amazing! My girlfriend was diagnosed with ALL in May 2016 and just had her stem cell transplant on September 30, 2016. My grandmother had a stem cell transplant in 2010 and is an AML survivor, so if you ever need a word of encouragement from either, please let me know! Keep up the battle!

Wow Garrett so sorry to hear about your girlfriend and grandmother but so happy to know they’re doing well. Your girlfriend and my ‘new birthdays’ are so close! When she gets that clean bill of health I would love to have her in the survivorship program and be beneficiary of one of our gifts. Please stay in touch with me with her progress. I will be thinking of you all! Best of luck and all my love xo Kelly
